Overview:

Forest fire prevention is vital to ecological security and people’s well-being; rapid response, precise handling, and efficient support are the core keys to “extinguishing fires at the earliest stage, when they are still small, and before they spread.” Leveraging the inherent customization advantages of the Qingling T28 pickup truck, an integrated emergency drone support vehicle has been developed, employing a “ground–air integrated” rescue model that combines robust ground mobility with efficient aerial operations. This innovative solution injects technological momentum into the forest firefighting emergency response system and serves as a prime example of collaborative innovation between Qingling Motors and its partner conversion enterprises.

Innate Modification Master

Prominent applications in specialized fields

Leveraging four core strengths—powertrain performance, chassis design, payload capacity, and off-road capability—the Qingling T28 pickup truck enjoys a natural competitive edge in the specialized vehicle conversion market. It can be precisely tailored to meet customized modification needs across a wide range of applications, including construction operations, emergency response, and municipal sanitation, thereby underscoring Qingling’s deep technological expertise and robust manufacturing capabilities in the commercial vehicle sector.

This vehicle is equipped with a brand-new 4KD-series 2.8-liter diesel engine that delivers a maximum power of 110 kW and a peak torque of 380 N·m. It features China’s first-ever EHC technology, which not only significantly reduces fuel consumption and extends the engine’s service life but also comprehensively enhances its power performance. The engine can produce 260 N·m of torque at just 1,000 rpm, providing ample low-end torque reserve to effortlessly handle demanding operating conditions such as heavy-load starts and steep-grade climbs.

The matching MUB high-torque transmission is engineered to industry-leading durability standards—twice the benchmark—and has undergone more than 400 hours of rigorous endurance testing, ensuring stable and reliable performance even under prolonged, heavy-duty operation. Meanwhile, its 4.1:1 high gear ratio further optimizes power transmission efficiency, enhancing the vehicle’s ability to extricate itself from challenging terrain such as mud, gravel, and steep slopes.

The chassis system has been comprehensively optimized, with an extended wheelbase and wider track, as well as a significantly increased longitudinal beam height. Combined with a high-strength frame, heavy-duty leaf springs, and 265AT large tires, the vehicle’s load-carrying capacity and obstacle-crossing performance have been substantially enhanced, enabling it to confidently handle complex environments such as construction sites, mines, and remote forest areas. In addition, the higher ground clearance improves overall off-road capability and supports a wide range of superstructure modifications, fully meeting the specialized operational needs of various industries.

Forest Firefighting Pioneer

Safeguarding the Ecological Security Defense Line

Upon its debut, the emergency UAV integrated support vehicle has garnered significant industry attention and boasts broad application prospects, contributing to the development of China’s forest-fire emergency response system and serving as Qingling’s flagship product in the burgeoning field of forest-fire-fighting emergency equipment.

This vehicle is a deeply modified version based on the Qingling T28 extended four-wheel-drive chassis, with overall dimensions of 5,810 × 1,950 × 2,430 mm. It integrates ten core rescue functions to create a mobile rescue fortress that combines patrol, fire suppression, resupply, and logistical support in one. In the field of forest fire prevention, the vehicle can work efficiently in tandem with drone-based patrol systems to achieve “second-level early warning and minute-level response,” precisely meeting the operational needs of real-world forest firefighting. Powered by the T28’s full-time four-wheel drive and robust powertrain, the vehicle can swiftly traverse firebreaks and seize the critical golden hour for rescue operations. Its compact size and agile handling enable it to navigate freely through remote areas such as forested grasslands and mountain ravines, significantly enhancing rescue response efficiency. The vehicle is equipped with an onboard patrol drone and a fire-fighting drone capable of carrying up to 80 kg, allowing for high-altitude reconnaissance and precise target localization. Paired with 12 radio-controlled fire-extinguishing bombs, a firefighting bucket, and a dedicated 125-liter water tank, the system enables seamless air–ground coordination, continuous replenishment of water supplies, and highly efficient suppression of fire hotspots and fire lines.

This vehicle is equipped with a standalone generator, enabling 24-hour uninterrupted power supply to drone batteries and various rescue equipment, thereby ensuring the continuous and stable execution of rescue operations. It features 360-degree panoramic lighting that provides illumination across the entire rescue area without any blind spots. The vehicle’s design includes multiple large-capacity storage compartments for the categorized storage of diverse rescue supplies and gear, while a dedicated fuel reserve tank at the rear addresses the challenge of on-site fuel replenishment in remote areas. Together, these features provide all-round support for the entire forest fire-fighting and rescue process, effectively establishing the first line of defense in forest fire prevention and control.

In addition, this vehicle boasts exceptional versatility in disaster-relief scenarios, enabling it to provide efficient support for urban firefighting operations—such as extinguishing fires in high-rise buildings and hazardous-material incidents—and to undertake critical emergency response and nighttime operations, including flood control and rescue, power restoration, and road rescue. It also delivers robust support for major events, such as security operations and emergency communications. The vehicle has been deployed in numerous live-force exercises, thoroughly demonstrating its multifunctionality, high reliability, and strong adaptability.
Qingling has always remained true to its commitment to quality, leveraging technological innovation, reliable performance, and flexible customization capabilities to provide high-quality specialized vehicle chassis solutions for emergency rescue, construction projects, and public services, thereby driving the industry toward greater professionalism, intelligence, and operational readiness. Looking ahead, Qingling will continue to capitalize on its technological strengths, deepen collaborative innovation with partners in the customization sector, and develop more specialized vehicles that meet national emergency response needs and support vital public services, using robust capabilities to safeguard ecological security and protect people’s lives and property.
